THIS WORK CONSISTS OF REMOVING EXISTING STEAM SYSTEMS IN THE BUILDINGS AND REPLACING THEM WITH MORE EFFICIENT AND MAINTAINABLE NATURAL GAS FIRED BOILER SYSTEMS TO GENERATE HOT WATER TO BE USED AS A HEAT SOURCE FOR THE BUILDING. A NEW BOILER HOUSE, BUILDING 4607 A, WILL BE CONSTRUCTED WHICH INCLUDES THE INSTALLATION OF NATURAL GAS FIRED BOILERS, PUMPS, AND DISTRIBUTION PIPING TO THE SUPPORTED FACILITIES: BUILDINGS 4600, 4601, AND 4602. THIS PROJECT ALSO INCLUDES BRINGING NATURAL GAS UNDERGROUND TO THESE BUILDINGS FROM THE EXISTING NATURAL GAS MAIN LINES. THIS PROJECT WILL ALSO ADD A THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE TANK, COOLING TOWER, HEAT EXCHANGER, PUMPS, AND CONTROLS TO CAPTURE THE REJECTED WASTE HEAT FROM THE COMPRESSED AIR STATION, BUILDING 4607, AND UTILIZE IT FOR HVAC HEATING AT THE 4600 COMPLEX.
